Ondoy's Impact to NCR and other nearby places.

Ondoy (Internationally named, Ketsana) has recently landed at NCR and Region 4 last Saturday (September 26, 2009) It has been one of those gloomy days. The sky was dark and it was giving off so much rains. It was unexceptionally cold that morning when I woke up, but when I looked outside our window, the rain was so strong that it was continuously dropping. People, who were passing by, were spreading rumors that the creek may overflow any moment from now if the rain would continue. Thankfully, the rain mellowed down.
If the rain was so strong here, what was its effect to Manila itself? Where the drainage and sanitation was a problem itself. The government wasn't able to solve that problem during the past administrations. I was hearing news that many places in the city was suffering from the flooding. It was scary. Yes, it was indeed scary. Knowing that my brother was currently staying at Malabon.
I received a sms message from a close friend of mine saying, that their house was no more to be seen during that time and was submerged by the flood. She even said that she was able to bring only one pair of clothes?! Is it that worse?! I was so worried over her and to everybody that were residing at Metro Manila. My God, what has happened to them?! Why had this happened?! It was one of the most unexpected experiences I came upon to.
Later that night, I was so shocked how terrible things had happened. Days has passed, yet the aftermath of the typhoon is clearly visible to each of one of us. In every person, we see how they need help badly. The bayanihan spirit must be carried upon now.
Ondoy has brought damage to many places. The picture of the city itself is a good example. It has destroyed not only establishments and material things, but also dreams of the people whose life were stolen.

Tell us, when will the so-called actions will be achieved, regarding the drainage and sanitation problems? Must there be another Ondoy before it is achieved? I really hope action can be done. :)
